My name is Mike Kissick. I spent over ten years playing music in the bars strung out on cocaine, etc. After 23 years in mostly high security prisons, I decided that Jesus had a better life planned for me, an abundant life. I worked over three years as a therapist in a residential substance abuse treatment facility for women with children. As far as credentials, I have a Masters in Religious Studies, a Masters in Christian Counseling Psychology, a certificate from Penn State in drug counseling, certified as a Christian therapist by the American Society of Christian Therapists (no longer in existence, I'm getting old), a LADC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor), a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) with a Masters in Licensed Professional Counseling, Certified EAGALA Specialist, and currently working on a PhD in General Psychology at Capella University.  My wife, Karen, is a Peer Recovery Support Specialist and Behavioral Health Case Manager who serves as Program Director for Abundant Life Today Services. She has also been working on a Masters in Professional Counseling at Capella University. She and I are both truly blessed to be able to work daily with people whose lives have been touched by drug addiction and all the mental health issues that come along with it.
